North Melbourne and Alastair Clarkson have parted ways after four seasons together, even with one year remaining on his deal.

Clarkson returned to Arden Street ahead of 2023, and coached the club on 82 occasions for 20 wins.

Surprisingly, the Kangaroos rose from consecutive three-win seasons to nine this year, and were closing in on a Wildcard Round slot, but fell short.

Here are 13 names who could be a part of the North Melbourne conversation...

Interestingly, a lot of these names were part of the Carlton and Essendon coaching process.

Nathan Buckley

The Collingwood great desperately wanted the Tasmania Devils job but missed out to Ken Hinkley. Does he pivot to North Melbourne?

Buckley has enjoyed splitting his time between Geelong as an assistant and his media duties with Fox Footy.

He was touted for the Melbourne job, but bypassed it given his desire to win the Devils job.

Buckley coached Collingwood for almost 10 years, taking the club to the 2018 decider as well as multiple finals series. He won 117 games out of 218.
