North Melbourne has handed one-year contract extensions to Toby Pink and River Stevens for 2027.

The pair were forced to wait to find out their futures during the trade period, however both are now locked in at the Roos for next season.

North Melbourne list manager Brady Rawlings explained the club's decision to bring the duo out of contract limbo and extend their contracts.

"Toby has grown into an important part of our defensive depth over the past few seasons, and is a reliable player for us when called upon," Rawlings said.

“We have faith in River's development and he has a lot of room for growth. We're eager to see how he evolves over the coming year.

Pink has been at the club for three seasons after being plucked as a mature age recruit out of the SANFL. The key defender has played 37 games at AFL level.

Father-son product Stevens, son of Anthony, is yet to make his debut after two seasons at the club as a small forward.

The Roos are expected to sign delisted free agents Samson Ryan (a ruck from Richmond) and Elijah Tsatas (midfielder from Essendon) to bolster their list for 2027. The DFA signing period opens November 2.
