AFL live stream: How to watch the AFL, full fixtures, TV guide

The 2025 AFL season will be played between Thursday, March 6 and Saturday, September 27, when it concludes with the AFL Grand Final. Here is your guide to watching every game on TV, or live-streaming Aussie Rules online.

The Brisbane Lions come into the season as the defending premiers, having beaten the Sydney Swans in last year's grand final.

With the second edition of Opening Round, the first week of action will see just four games played, with clubs who compete in Opening Round having an early bye round across Rounds 2, 3 or 4.

Four further bye weeks are scheduled across 12-15, with every other weekend of the AFL season seeing nine matches played. They are generally split into one on Thursday, one on Friday, four on Saturday and three on Sunday, although there can be differences from time to time.

Under the terms of the AFL's TV deal, all nine games are available to both watch on TV, and live stream online. You can scroll down to the bottom of this article to see which games are coming up this weekend.

How to watch the AFL on TV in Australia

The AFL is split between Channel 7 on free-to-air TV, and Fox Sports on pay TV.

Channel 7 often has the rights to games on Thursday night, Friday night and Sunday afternoon. Those games will also be simulcast on Fox Sports throughout the season.

Fox Sports have exclusive rights to all of the remaining games each week, including every Saturday game depending on your location.

Channel 7 also has exclusive rights to all finals games and the grand final.

Channel 7 can be found on digital TV at Channel 70 in high definition and 71 in standard definition, while it can be found on Foxtel at Channel 107. Some states may broadcast the game on 7Mate or 7Two, and Zero Hanger suggests checking your local guides to confirm which channel the game will be broadcast on.

If you have Foxtel, live games and replays can be found on the Fox Footy channel, which is located at Channel 504.

How to live stream the AFL online

If you're looking to live stream the AFL, then there are a number of options available to you.

Every match (outside of the grand final) will be available to live stream through Foxtel's subscription services, either Kayo Sports or The Foxtel App, which is also known as Foxtel Go.

Games broadcast on Channel 7 will enable you to live stream the match for free through the network's own live stream platform, known as 7plus. Signing up with a valid account and login details will suffice to live stream matches for free through this platform.
