St Kilda defender Alix Tauru has been found guilty at the VFL tribunal and suspended for four matches.
His past record contributed to a four match sanction, rather than a base sanction of three games.
He will be unavailable for matches against Essendon, Port Adelaide, Geelong and North Melbourne. He will next be available for AFL selection on August 1.
The tribunal chair told Tauru: "You may need to think about the way you play. (There is) no issue with being strong, but the problem might be the way you conduct yourself."
The incident was graded as severe impact, high contact and careless conduct, with those gradings upheld.
A key part of the case was whether the bump on Footscray's Stirling Phipps-Parsons was high or not with the vision leaving some conjecture.
Tauru argued that his bump was a clean shoulder on shoulder bump and contended that he thought he would be first to the ball and his actions were not unreasonable in the circumstances. By the time it was clear to him that would not be the case, he had already committed to the bump.
STEVO'S STING: It's time Tauru pulled his head in
He was referred directly to the VFL tribunal after he collected Phipps-Parsons with a high bump, resulting in a concussion.
It is his third multi-game suspension in the VFL in 12 months, and he has drawn criticism for his ill-discipline.
