Brisbane rookie Levi Ashcroft has been rewarded with a contract extension, with the father-son gun now penned to the Lions until the end of 2030.
The Lions have added an extra three years onto Ashcroft's existing deal, which was set to expire at the end of 2027. He joins his brother Will Ashcroft in committing to new long-term deals, with Will's extension, which was signed just four days ago, also expiring in 2030.
Ashcroft said in the club's statement how being drafted last year was a dream come true, and was ecstatic about how his rookie season panned out, finishing third in the Rising Star voting and winning a premiership alongside his brother.
“Being drafted last year was a dream come true but to be able to commit to the club for a further term is satisfying,” Ashcroft said.
“It's still surreal to think my first year played out the way it did.

“I am so grateful to be at this club and be able to contribute my part to the success this year.
“We are a special group, and I have been made to feel really comfortable at the club and we are not going to stop at what we achieved this year.
“We have such a great balance of experienced players and young players coming through, and I love playing with this group.
“We have enjoyed the celebrations, but focus turns to making sure I continue to improve and get the best out of myself this pre-season to go again even stronger in 2026 and hopefully for many more years to come.
“I would like to thank the club and my management for having faith in me and I hope I can continue to make them and my family proud on and off the field over the next five years as a Brisbane Lions player."

Brisbane Lions List Manager Dom Ambrogio was thrilled to have another Ashcroft commit long-term.
“The club is thrilled to have Levi extend to the end of 2030, as we see him being a really important part of our future,” Ambrogio said.
“We knew when we drafted Levi that he was an exceptional young talent, and he showed in his first season of AFL what he is capable of.
“Levi is also an extremely driven and professional 18-year-old, and we look forward to watching him continue to develop his game.”
