The Blues spearhead was pictured with Swans coach Dean Cox at Moore Park on Monday afternoon ahead of a wider discussion with the club's key figures over a desired partnership.
Curnow has long been linked with a sea change, and the Swans, among Geelong and Gold Coast, were deemed the likeliest of destinations given their mixture of suitable players and picks.
Hayward was linked with the Ikon Park club 18 months ago, given that he considered a switch last year before re-signing at the Swans. The 26-year-old penned a five-year extension, taking him until the end of 2029.
