Sydney forward Will Hayward is reportedly "open to being part of" a deal that would see Charlie Curnow head to the Swans.

The saga and speculation surrounding Curnow's future has seen Sydney and Geelong express strong interest in the two-time Coleman Medal winner, who is keen to depart the Blues.

While Carlton have stood firm that Curnow will be at Princes Park in 2026, the club is expected to be willing to listen to offers that could turn their head.

Geelong's offer of three first-round picks was knocked back by the Blues, who didn't see great value in the trio of selections, and would also be keen to add experienced quality players to their list.

That stance has placed Sydney as the front-runner in negotiations, with the Swans having a handful of players who could be open to a move south.

While James Rowbottom and Ollie Florent have been raised as potential targets for the Blues, Hayward has been a name consistently linked to the club, given Carlton's interest in the South Australian last year.

According to 9 News' Tom Morris, Hayward would be open to being traded "if required".

While the addition of Hayward in an offer would strengthen the Swans' prospects of securing Curnow, the New South Wales club may need to package a pair of first-round picks, as well as another player.

Sydney hold Pick 11 for this year's AFL Draft, and can use their 2026 and 2027 first-round selections in a deal.

Florent has reportedly been told he can explore his options for 2026, and might find an opportunity at the Blues attractive after falling out of favour in the red and white this year.

The defender-midfielder could add some much-needed run to Michael Voss' back half, while Hayward can offer some spark in attack.

Hayward has played 184 games for Sydney, booting 229 goals, including 29 majors this year.
