The Wednesday deadline for the 2021 Trade Period is nearing as clubs continue to scramble in their efforts to land each and every desired for the off-season.

DONE DEAL: Tiger and Roo swap places along with picks

Richmond and North Melbourne have lodged paperwork for a trade that will see Callum Coleman-Jones and Robbie Tarrant swap places, while several picks also exchange hands.

The Kangaroos will receive Coleman-Jones and Picks 42, 47 and the Tigers' future fourth-round selection.

Kennett’s comments cause stir, senior Hawks put on notice

Every year Trade Period dishes up surprises and this year is no different, with Hawthorn president Jeff Kennett contacting members on Thursday night with a message that certainly raised eyebrows.

The email suggested the club may make some "surprise" list management decisions as they look to build for the future. While there have been whispers about a big name or two being on the trade table, the email has further fueled speculation.

Snag in Lobb trade, Giants forward linked to negotiations

A snag looks to have hit this year's shock trade period storyline, with Rory Lobb's potential return to Greater Western Sydney now looking unlikely.

A report linking the 28-year-old to a move back to the Giants was a twist nobody saw coming, with Lobb reportedly having undergone a medical with the New South Wales club.

Further intrigue was placed on Lobb's potential exit from the Dockers as Fox Footy's Tom Morris reports that Giants livewire Bobby Hill could be included in a trade that would look to satisfy the Dockers.

Interstate club showing interest in Hawks star

Port Adelaide are understood to have emerged as an interested suitor for Hawthorn midfielder Jaeger O'Meara.

O'Meara has been a key feature for the Hawks since arriving from the Suns at the end of 2016, coming third in the club's best and fairest count this season.

The Power could look to send Peter Ladhams and a desirable draft selection to the Hawks in exchange for O'Meara.

In-demand Dog inks new deal

Western Bulldogs ruckman Jordon Sweet has signed a new two-year deal to remain at the Kennel until the end of the 2023 season.

Sweet, who was understood to have been of interest to rival clubs, has knocked back any external approaches to continue his young career at Whitten Oval.

The 23-year-old has played made his AFL debut in Round 5 this season, lining up against Gold Coast and amassing 31 hit-outs for his side.

Insane trade offer that could end Dawson discussions

A radical proposal from the Swans has left the ball in Adelaide's court in regards to a trade that would see Jordan Dawson land at West Lakes with several first and second-round selections also swapping hands.

Now, according to Trade Radio's Sam Edmund, an offer has been tabled that would see the Demons' 2022 pick head to the Swans and both clubs' future first and second-round selections exchange hands.

"Sydney send to Adelaide the Swans' future first and the Swans' future second and they get back Adelaide's own future first and Adelaide's own future second."

No new deal tabled for Magpies free agent

Collingwood forward Josh Thomas is yet to be offered a new deal by the Magpies for the 2022 season.

Thomas is among several Collingwood players that are yet to know where their future lies for next season, with the club undergoing a list rebuild as new coach Craig McRae takes the lead.

Collingwood football boss Graham Wright revealed on Trade Radio on Friday that Thomas hasn't been offered a new deal as the Magpies continue their planning through the exchange window.
