A radical proposal from the Swans has left the ball in Adelaide's court in regards to a trade that would see Jordan Dawson land at West Lakes with several first and second-round selections also swapping hands.

The Crows were understood to have left the Swans with a final warning offer that would see Melbourne's future first-round selection - which was acquired by Adelaide earlier this week - heading to the New South Wales club.

The Swans are understood to have been keen on landing a higher draft selection from the Crows, with Pick 4 in the 2021 National Draft currently calling Adelaide home.

Negotiations between the two clubs have continued to struggle in progressing to reach agreeable terms in the wake of Dawson's request to join the Crows this off-season.

Now, according to Trade Radio's Sam Edmund, an offer has been tabled that would see the Demons' 2022 pick head to the Swans and both clubs' future first and second-round selections exchange hands.

"Sydney take Melbourne's future first," Edmund started. "Now get your head around this...

"Sydney send to Adelaide the Swans' future first and the Swans' future second and they get back Adelaide's own future first and Adelaide's own future second."

The trade would see the Crows gamble their fate in hoping to see their 2022 campaign strongly improve from this year or the Swans fall back toward the bottom half of the competition next season which would see the future selections range in similar value.

Edmund also reported that a move that would see Pick 12 and Dawson traded for the Crows' Pick 4 has also been tabled, however Adelaide remain "resolute" on keeping their top draft selection for 2021.
