Overview
McPherson has missed plenty of football over the past year including the entire Under-18s championships because of niggling injuries. Regardless, he is a promising prospect with reliable disposal and decision-making off half-back.
Recruiters may have reservations about whether his body can handle the rigours of top-level football, but his Woodville-West Torrens teammate and former Port Adelaide player Paul Stewart said McPherson was one of the most professional kids he ever played with and complimented the 18-year-old's determination to overcome injury and setback.
Clearly, McPherson has enough class and leadership potential and a club may take a punt with a third or fourth round pick.
