Many greats have towered over others in their dominance of the game across the decades of the AFL's history. Their lumbering presence has thrilled fans and, at times, dictated the outcome of games just by their massive presence alone.

With so few "giants" out there in the AFL landscape, how would you rank them amongst each other to find out who truly towers over all as the all-time greatest tall to ever play the game?

Here's my ranking of the top 10 tall players to ever play the game. The criteria for the list is simple: to qualify, a player must be 205cm and over.

2Aaron Sandilands (211cm)

"Big Sandy" is tied at being the tallest player to ever play in the AFL, but that didn't stop the two-time best and fairest from helping lead the Fremantle fight in the finals during some of the club's most formative years.

More than just a tap ruckman, Sandilands was a force in the middle of the ground led the league for hit-outs six times in both the season and finals and in 2010 had one of his best years after finishing sixth in the Brownlow with 20 votes. Four All-Australian appearances just add to his legacy, while winning the Geoff Christian Medal might be one of his better achievements.
