Collingwood's Jordan De Goey has shot to the top of the 2022 Gay Ayres Award voting after the semi-final weekend, sitting level with Brisbane's Lachie Neale.

De Goey added to his opening weekend votes tally of five with a perfect performance against Fremantle on Saturday night, where he collected 24 disposals and booted one goal.

Neale also added to his tally across the opening fortnight of September, amassing five votes while teammates Eric Hipwood and Jarrod Berry led the way in the win over Melbourne with nine votes each.

The weekend's results see Neale and De Goey tied on 15 votes from two games, while Docker Caleb Serong rounds out the top three with 12 votes of his own after adding to his tally in the loss to the Magpies.
