Carlton list manager Nick Austin has followed Michael Voss in resigning from his post at the Blues.
Austin arrived at Carlton in 2020, and has overseen the drafting of several emerging talents including Jagga Smith and Harry Dean.
He was also the central figure to Carlton attaining Ben Ainsworth and Ollie Florent in last year's AFL Trade Period.
His departure leaves the Blues two key members short on their recruiting team following the resignation of Mick Agresta ahead of the season.
"Our club thanks Nick for his commitment and dedication to the football club over the last five years," Footy Director Chris Davies said.
"Nick is a great club person and we wish him all the best for the next chapter in his career.
"While today has certainly been one of significant change, we continue to move forward as a football program, with our focus to remain solely on taking this club in the direction we need to improve in every area of our football performance."
There has been speculation that young defender Harry O'Farrell could be moved to the long term injury list, which would open up a list spot for the Blues at the Mid-Season Draft.
The Blues have priority access to top three prospect Cody Walker at the upcoming AFL National Draft, but could require some nifty moving to ensure they have enough points following recent AFL Draft rule changes.
It was also indicated on Tuesday that the Blues could look to the AFL Draft as the list continues to transition.
It follows a tumultuous day at the Blues, with Voss stepping aside and key stakeholders addressing the media in an extended press conference to explain their decision so early into a season.
