Star Blue, Suns gun shorten gap on leader: 2022 AFL MVP – Round 19

A somewhat quieter weekend for Clayton Oliver on his return from injury has seen the Demons star slide on our MVP leaderboard from second to fourth.

Moving into his place is Suns star Touk Miller, who polled a perfect 20 votes and took home the Marcus Ashcroft Medal in Saturday night's loss to the Lions.

Carlton skipper Patrick Cripps moved onto the podium with a 16-vote effort against the Giants, with Brisbane's Lachie Neale rounding out the top five after polling 7 votes himself.

Each round this season, the Zero Hanger team - consisting of editor Mitch Keating, general manager Nick Splitter, deputy editor Ed Carmine and writer Dani Sorati - will vote on every game to establish our AFL MVP for 2022.

Richmond Tigers vs Fremantle Dockers

Hayden Young was the standout star in Friday night's drawn affair, negating Richmond's attack while sling-shotting the Dockers into the offensive half of the field. The young backman and fellow defender Luke Ryan were among the leading vote-getters, while leader Andrew Brayshaw was able to extend his run at the top with another seven votes of his own. Tiger Dion Prestia was seen as Richmond's best, while Shai Bolton holds his place among the top 15.
