St Kilda is confident Darcy Wilson will remain at the club despite rival sides chasing his signature.

Wilson is in career-best form, playing all but one game this season, averaging 20.6 disposals, 4.3 marks, 1.5 clearances, 3.7 inside 50s, six score involvements and a goal per week.

North Melbourne and Adelaide are clubs that have been linked to the 20-year-old, while Geelong is a watch on contract talks as he weighs up his future.

"All those things will play out in due course," Saints general manager of football Lenny Hayes said on Fox Footy.

"Everything he has indicated to us is that he is really happy. He is part of the young core driving this club forward. We are pretty confident. We think we should be able to, hopefully, get something done relatively soon."

Hayes was also quizzed about the future of highly-regarded assistant coach Corey Enright as Carlton and Essendon begin their searches for a new senior coach.

The coaching race has hit fever pitch as the pair of Victorian clubs moved on Michael Voss and Brad Scott in recent weeks, joining Tasmania in a bid to land the next best leader.

Enright has said previously he hasn't been contacted by the Blues - before Scott's sacking - but is keen to see through the progression and development at Moorabbin. This is his fifth year at St Kilda.

"Yeah, he is (a man in demand)," Hayes said.

"It's not surprising he has been spoken about. Really credentialled person. Well respected. Not only amongst our club, but amongst the football community. We've told Corey that we really value you. We'd love for him to stay at the club, but we also won't stand in his way if he wants to put his hand up.

"We fully support him if he does want to go through one of those processes."
