Collingwood farewells Joel Cochran, Wil Parker, Mitch Podhajski, Jakob Ryan, Iliro Smit and Lachie Sullivan, after the group was informed they will not be offered contracts for 2027.
The Pies made the call shortly after their season came to a grinding halt following a heartbreaking loss to Western Bulldogs in the Wildcard Round.
Collingwood will also lose Steele Sidebottom to retirement, while Scott Pendlebury will join Gold Coast as an unrestricted free agent.
“On behalf of everyone at Collingwood, we would like to sincerely thank Joel, Wil, Mitch, Jakob, Iliro and Lachie for their dedication and contribution to our Football Club,” general manager of list and talent strategy Justin Leppitsch said.
“Each of them has played an important role across both our AFL and VFL programs, and they should be incredibly proud of the commitment, professionalism and character they have shown throughout their time in black and white.”
Sullivan departs the club following his SSP selection after the club's premiership victory in 2023. He played 26 games and kicked 10 goals, including two this season.
Parker joined the Pies as a Category B rookie following a successful cricket career ahead of the 2024 campaign. He played 14 matches in the black and white.
The 24-year-old has been linked to Port Adelaide.
Ryan joined the Pies in 2022 after he was taken with Pick 28. He played one game and was concussed after being knocked by Brisbane's Cam Rayner.
Podhajski was a 2026 mid-season draftee, and quickly filled a need for Collingwood's forward line after impressive form in the VFL for Coburg. He played two games.
Cochran and Smit were unable to earn a debut under McRae, but showed strong development in the VFL.
