It's been yet another big week in the AFL world and there's always time to take a lighter look into what has happened.

Here's what you may have missed:

Shooting Stars is back!

During the Lions' dominant win over Geelong on Thursday night, Brisbane's Joe Daniher was paid a free quick for a 'push in the back' that lets be fair, wasn't there.

Daniher's theatrical fall has since become the latest victim for the shooting stars meme as a result.

Petracca defends his good mate

Philadelphia 76ers Australian star Ben Simmons has come under plenty of scrutiny over the last week for his performances in the Sixers' recent playoff series against the Atlanta Hawks.

Teammate and MVP runner-up Joel Embiid had stern words to say over the last week about the performances of Simmons.

As any good mate would do, Melbourne star Christian Petracca, who played with Simmons for Victoria and Australia as a junior, was there to defend Simmons.

LISTEN: Tasmanian Premier goes BANG!

Talk of an AFL team in Tasmania has heated up over the last fortnight, and Tassie premier Peter Gutewin has been the major face of the push.

In a recent video, Gutewin further staked Tasmania's claims for a club in his state in a fun and expressive way, with a little subtle drive-by of the Gold Coast along the way.

Great banter, Premier.

Bulldogs bromance blossoming

After Adam Treloar's off-season move from Collingwood to the Western Bulldogs, he and fellow midfielder Josh Dunkley have grown a very strong bond since day one that can only now be described as a bromance.

Adding to the bromance theme, Treloar and Dunkley were both seen wearing t-shirts feauring one another this week.

Quality stuff, lads!

'The Fox': NRL's Eddie Betts

Melbourne Storm rugby league star, Josh Addo-Carr showed his talents with a football in a recent video, kicking a brilliant goal at training, evenlabeling himself "the Eddie Betts of the NRL".

What a vibe.

'Stevo' heads into politics

After former Channel 7 reporter, Mark Stevens, made headlines this week with an unexpected move into politics, it definitely caught the attention of AFL fans on social media, for better or for worse.

Stevens regularly voiced his opinion on the COVID-19 situation in Victoria in 2020, and this is what has been distinguished as the first domino in his entrance into politics.

It's also well known that Stevens is an avid Western Bulldogs supporter, and one fan suggests 'Stevo' might make use of his new-found power to support his beloved Doggies.

This must have been his plan all along...
