Hawthorn saw five players nominated, while Geelong and Port Adelaide boast four each.
Dual Brownlow Medallist Patrick Cripps is a resurgent Carlton's lone representative, while rivals Collingwood boast both Daicos brothers in the squad. Reborn defender Billy Frampton looms as one of the biggest hard-luck omissions from the squad.
Melbourne living legend Max Gawn appears on track for his record-breaking ninth blazer, joined by electric teammate Kysaiah Pickett in the squad.
Despite a bottom-four finish, the Port Adelaide Power are well represented, with four names in the initial squad, headlined by wantaway midfielder, Zak Butters.
Fellow bottom-four sides Essendon, Richmond and West Coast are the three sides not to be represented in the squad, while 21 players feature in the initial pool for the first time in their careers.
