Social Talk is back again in what is yet another week with plenty happening.
Here's what's made news on the socials this week:
'A very happy Nick Daicos day to you all'ย
For Collingwood fans there was no better feeling than waking up to a good morning tweet like this...
Nick Daicos has officially nominated to be a Pie, who will follow in the footsteps of his father and football great Peter Daicos as well as join brother Josh Daicos in the black and white next season.
The Pies may have finished second last on the ladder but unleashing the potential no. 1 draft pick next season is a good reason for any Collingwood fan to smile about.
Good morning @CollingwoodFC people, and a very happy Nick Daicos day to you all. #GoPies

Not a bad effort from these two Cats!ย
Name two greater players from the same draft to have had this sort ofย impact on their club.
Tom Hawkins and Joel Selwood are en route yet again toย playing another AFL Grand Final together and their qualifying match against Port Adelaide this weekend is certain to be an exciting one for Geelong fans.
Hawkins will play his 300th game for the Cats and earned his fourth All- Australian team selection.
Selwood will equal the club games record achieving a 332 game milestone since his debut in 2007. The captain willย lead the Cats with the hope of taking out this year's flag after falling short of victory last year.
Very special night for the @GeelongCats
- Qual. Final v Port Adelaide
- Tom Hawkins: 300 games
- Joel Selwood equals club games record (332) and goes =2 in V/AFL finals playedHard to think of two players from one draft that have had a bigger impact on their club#GeelongStrong pic.twitter.com/ohOHO5GQLs

And Hero of the day goes to....ย
Isaac Cumming from GWS in what was a shock upset for Patrick Dangerfield who was on the front page the Herald Sun "weeks ago" telling us all "to get jabbed."
Cumming who said he was looking forward to getting the vaccine to protect his family and friends post-season was commended for his response by fans on twitter.
He was the only AFL player to mention the jab out of the eight who were interviewed.
Well done Isaac Cumming!
This guy is my hero of the day. Only one of 8 players interviewed to mention getting vaccinated being part of his future plans. pic.twitter.com/KYKauS9hpP

AFL & AFLW Rising Star Coincidence?
AFL reporter Sarah Black took to Twitter to point out that in the past three years the AFL and AFLW rising stars have all come from the same club.
This years rising star went to Melbourne ruckman Luke Jackson and Melbourne forward Tyla Hanks.
Jackson is the third Demon to win the award joining Jared Rivers(2004) and Jesse Hogan (2015). Tyla Hanks dominated in the AFLW votes with a total of 48 - 16 votes ahead of Richmond gun Ellie McKenzie. Two very impressive results from these young Demons!
In 2019 Sam Walsh and Maddy Prespakis from Carlton took out the honourย and Collingwood's Jaidyn Stephenson and Chloe Molloy were also announced from the same club as 2018's rising stars.
In three of the past four years, the AFL and AFLW Rising Star has come from the same club:
2018 - Jaidyn Stephenson & Chloe Molloy
2019 - Maddy Prespakis & Sam Walsh
2021 - Luke Jackson & Tyla Hanks— Sarah Black (@_sjblack) August 26, 2021
The long awaited return of Mitch Duncan!
Mitch Duncan will play against Port Adelaide this weekend, 10 weeks after he suffered a serious PCL injury.
According to AFL media, Cats coach Chris Scott admitted he had been downplaying expectations on his star mid-fielder.
Duncan, who averages 23 disposals per a game told Geelong Mediaย "its really exciting" to be back playing especially in the finals.
The return is clearly getting Geelong fans excited!
Yeah sex is great but was Mitch Duncan named in your teamโs first final?

All-Australian team selection
Carlton key defender Jacob Weitering was left out of the All-Australian team selection, perhaps as a result of his performance against North Melbourne in round 19.
Weitering has been a dominant force in defence for the Blues all season and according to Champion Data was ranked theย No. 3ย key defender in the competition.
However Carlton's 39 point loss to the Kangaroos and Nick Larkey's seven goals in the game may have leftย Weitering narrowly missing the team selection for a second year in a row.
This has officially overtaken the 1999 Grand Final as my favourite Carlton defeat at the hands of the North Melbourne Football Club. pic.twitter.com/S3oGdP7nzn
