Collingwood youngster Jordan De Goey will miss the remaining two matches of the season due to a hip injury.

The 21-year-old is set to go under the knife to repair a hip flexor strain he sustained in the side's loss to Port Adelaide over the weekend.

After missing the opening five rounds due to a broken hand and a club imposed ban due to lying about the fact he broke the hand in a fight outside a bar, De Goey has played a total of 14 games this season.

“Jordan will unfortunately have to have surgery in the next few days, which will count him out for an early exit for the season,” General Manager of Football Geoff Walsh said.

“He will then move into a rehab phase for 2018, which is unfortunate for Jordan.”

He joins Scott Pendlebury, Levi Greenwood, Travis Varcoe and Ben Sinclair in missing the rest of the season.
