Collingwood youngster Jordan De Goey will miss the remaining two matches of the season due to a hip injury.

The 21-year-old is set to go under the knife to repair a hip flexor strain he sustained in the side's loss to Port Adelaide over the weekend.

After missing the opening five rounds due to a broken hand and a club imposed ban due to lying about the fact he broke the hand in a fight outside a bar, De Goey has played a total of 14 games this season.

โ€œJordan will unfortunately have to have surgery in the next few days, which will count him out for an early exit for the season,โ€ General Manager of Footballย Geoff Walsh said.

โ€œHe will then move into a rehab phase for 2018, which is unfortunate for Jordan.โ€

He joins Scott Pendlebury, Levi Greenwood, Travis Varcoe and Ben Sinclair in missing the rest of the season.
