There have been over four decades of matches between the West Coast Eagles and the Fremantle Dockers in the battle for Perth, with many tight games that resonate with West Australians to this day.

West Coast are ahead in the ledger, with 33 wins out from 61 meetings against Fremantle. However, Fremantle's Paul Hasleby and Caleb Serong have won the Glendinning-Allan medal the most, at four times each.

Here's my ranking of the 10 most exciting games between the clubs in the lead-up to their 62nd meeting today at Optus Stadium.

4. Round 6, 2006

Fremantle 12.16 (88) defeated West Coast 12.11 (83)

One of the more controversial games on the list, Fremantle was able to grab its sixth straight derby win, but not without some drama. Josh Carr snapped three goals from 26 disposals, while Pavlich kicked four goals of his own, but it was Chris Judd who stole centre stage as the only Ross Glendinning (as it was then known) medalist from a losing side. Judd received the nod with 33 disposals and 12 clearances, drawing the ire of Freo fans.
