Lions recruit Lachie Neale is confident that his new club are not far off from the ultimate success.

The gun midfielder was confident that his move from Fremantle to Brisbane will culminate with the Lions winning a flag.

Asked if the Lions were closer to the Dockers to winning premiership silverware, Neale toldย foxfooty.com.au: โ€œYes, or I wouldnโ€™t have come.

โ€œFreo have brought in some really quality players and I hope they go well.

โ€œBut I do think Brisbane will be better.โ€

The 25-year did not want stopped short of setting a bench mark for Brisbane in 2019.

โ€œWe shouldnโ€™t put any limits on ourselves. We are a young side and the more games we get into some of those younger guys the better weโ€™ll become,โ€ Neale said.

โ€œI donโ€™t think weโ€™ll get to our full potential this year because you need that experience.โ€

Brisbane posses one of the brightest young lists in the competition that boasts several rising talents like Cam Rayner, Harris Andrews and Alex Witherden.

โ€œGive us another year or two and I think youโ€™ll really start to see us hit out straps and thatโ€™s when weโ€™ll be a great team, hopefully.โ€
