Lions recruit Lachie Neale is confident that his new club are not far off from the ultimate success.

The gun midfielder was confident that his move from Fremantle to Brisbane will culminate with the Lions winning a flag.

Asked if the Lions were closer to the Dockers to winning premiership silverware, Neale told foxfooty.com.au: “Yes, or I wouldn’t have come.

“Freo have brought in some really quality players and I hope they go well.

“But I do think Brisbane will be better.”

The 25-year did not want stopped short of setting a bench mark for Brisbane in 2019.

“We shouldn’t put any limits on ourselves. We are a young side and the more games we get into some of those younger guys the better we’ll become,” Neale said.

“I don’t think we’ll get to our full potential this year because you need that experience.”

Brisbane posses one of the brightest young lists in the competition that boasts several rising talents like Cam Rayner, Harris Andrews and Alex Witherden.

“Give us another year or two and I think you’ll really start to see us hit out straps and that’s when we’ll be a great team, hopefully.”
