Sydney will be without Lance Franklin for Friday's clash with Hawthorn at the MCG after the Swans arrived at Melbourne Airport without their star forward.

The Swans touched down on Thursday afternoon in preparation for Friday's important clash, although Franklin was no where to be seen, meaning he didn't fly over with the rest of the team.

It means Franklin won't face his former side. Midfielder Dan Hannebery will also remain on the sidelines after missing the past fortnight through injury.

The pair will miss their third game in a row.

Sydney coach John Longmire also confirmed Franklin was in doubt for next week's clash with Fremantle.
