Port Adelaide have delisted Sam Gray ahead of Thursday's list lodgement deadline.

The 27-year old departs the club after 96 AFL games and 98 SANFL games, struggling to consistently cement his spot in the senior team.

โ€œSam has been a great contributor to the Port Adelaide Football Club, having started at U/17 level from his home in Cleve on the Eyre Peninsula, progressing to win a SANFL Best and Fairest for the club before being drafted onto the clubโ€™s AFL list and then making his way into our team,โ€ the club's general manager of football Chris Davies told portadelaidefc.com.au.

โ€œThroughout that time, he has shown his versatility and willingness to play in multiple positions on the ground, in order to help the team.

โ€œThere is no doubt that he has developed a lot of friendships over his journey and has been a popular member of the playing group and we wish him all the very best for his future.โ€
