Hawthorn superstar Nick Watson continues to prove he is one of the best young players to come through the AFL since the turn of the century.

After winning his maiden All-Australian blazer and club best-and-fairest in just his third season, Watson has joined an exclusive 10-man club who have all achieved the same.

Chris Judd (2004), Matthew Pavlich (2002), Jeremy Cameron (2013), Errol Gulden (2023), Marcus Bontempelli (2016), Sam Walsh (2021), Chad Wingard (2013) and Andrew Kellaway (2000) all achieved the same feat.

Port Adelaide's Wingard incredibly reached the milestone in only his second season.

Collingwood superstar Nick Daicos - as he has often become - is in even more rare air as he won his second All-Australian blazer and his first best-and-fairest in his third season.

Kellaway, with respect to the former 176-game Richmond defender, is the surprise addition to this list of A-plus-grade superstars.

Watson's season, in which he booted 63 goals from 23 games, saw the 21-year-old breakthrough and become one of the best impact and burst players in the league.

Despite his 170cm stature and being only three pre-seasons in, Watson is already a physical force in the league with his speed, agility and creativity arguably unlike anything seen from a player in recent memory.

Watson was taken with Pick 5 in the 2023 National Draft.
