Former Geelong defender Jed Bews will make the move to Western Australia this off-season to play for the West Coast Eagles' WAFL side.
The surprise move, which was reported by Seven West, will see Bews link up with former teammate and current West Coast assistant backline coach Mitch Duncan.
Bews' decision to head to Perth is expected to follow a similar path to Duncan's to work in the development space at West Coast.
The 32-year-old was drafted to Geelong as a father-son selection in 2011 with Pick 86.
He went on to play 175 games for the Cats before being delisted at the end of the 2026 season.
Bews was an effective lockdown small-mid sized defender at 186cm and played in Geelong's 2022 premiership victory over Sydney.

West Coast's WAFL side showed a jump in improvement in 2026, perhaps a sign of the AFL team gaining more talent and depth through its doors.
The Eagles finished just outside of the top five finals position in seventh with 10 wins and eight losses.
It was the best WAFL season for the Eagles in terms of wins and second best ladder position for the club since it made its league debut in 2019 and finished fourth on a record of 9-9.
Duncan joined West Coast as a development coach after he retired at the conclusion of the 2025 AFL season. He is originally from Western Australia.
