Richmond-tied AFL Draft prospect Tanner Armstrong enjoyed a strong 2026 across his commitments with the Murray Bushrangers, Vic Country and AFL Academy.

Armstrong started the season in good form for the Bushrangers and had a strong pair of performances for the AFL Academy against North Melbourne and Richmond's VFL lineups.

His toughness, inside clearance-winning ability, agility and neat skills shone through as he played primarily on ball for both teams.

Those neat skills saw Armstrong deployed at half-back for Vic Country, where he showed a good level of composure and put his competitiveness to good use.

Armstrong also played in defence for Richmond in the VFL, getting the chance to play for the side he is tied to via the Tigers' Next Generation Academy.

He also played a starring role this year for Scotch College, splitting his time between the midfield and half-back.

Armstrong's best position at the next level remains a question, but he can certainly win plenty of the footy, and he does have the tools to carve out a role for himself at the next level, if given the chance.
