Simon Goodwin has fronted the media following a tumultuous week for the Melbourne Football Club.

Amid new revelations about a meeting between the club and the AFL last year, the Demons coach has denied any behavioural issues and backed club chief executive, Gary Pert.

The Herald Sun exclusively reported on leaked notes from said meeting, notes that indicated that AFL CEO Gillion McLachlan suggested both Pert and Goodwin could be sacked after the club raised concerns about the latter's behaviour.

It was reported that McLachlan was concerned that there was more going on at the club than just the behaviour in question, including alleged sessions involving drinking and betting with players.

When asked about the story, the premiership coach downplayed any relevance.

"To be honest, I’m not interested in it," he said.

"It’s an irrelevant story. Gary Pert is a complete man of integrity. I’ve got no behavioural issues. Gill McLachlan and Richard Goyder do a fantastic job at running our competition and if you guys can join the dots in between all of that then you guys go for it. But it’s a completely irrelevant story to me and our footy club."

This comes as the reigning premiers were embroiled in another scandal this past week, with a scuffle between a Demons pair Steven May and Jake Melksham.

Goodwin and his charges will earn a chance to arrest their recent loss of form and put an end to a week of bad press when they face Collingwood at the MCG on Monday afternoon for the annual Queens Birthday clash.
