St Kilda superstar Nasiah Wanganeen-Milera has likely played his last game for the season after injuring his hamstring against Carlton on Sunday.
Today it has been revealed that Wanganeen-Milera will miss the remainder of the home-and-away season with a moderate hamstring strain.
Given St Kilda's position on the ladder, it likely means his year is done.
A timeline for return has not yet been given for Wanganeen-Milera, but moderate hamstring strains usually mean four to six weeks on the sidelines.
Saints winger Mason Wood has also likely had his season ended by a calf injury.
Wood has enjoyed another strong campaign for the club. The 32-year-old joined St Kilda from North Melbourne at the end of 2020.
Wanganeen-Milera's chances of making it back-to-back All-Australian blazers are dampened given the 23-year-old will only just sneak into qualification with 17 games played and a tight race for midfield spots.
St Kilda's season has not been ended just yet mathematically, however, everything will have to go right for Ross Lyon's men in the final two games for the Saints to qualify.
The club sits two wins behind 10th placed Carlton, and will need the Blues to lose both of their remaining matches to the Western Bulldogs and Fremantle.
Meanwhile, St Kilda has to beat Richmond and Gold Coast to give itself the slimmest of chances of wildcard final qualification.
