Delisted Port Adelaide player Xavier Walsh has signed with Tasmania's VFL side for the 2027 season, reuniting with his younger brother and Devils-listed youngster Axel.

Walsh spent three seasons at Alberton, where he kicked 28 goals across 36 games in the SANFL, before he was delisted.

The East Perth product Walsh enjoyed his most productive season in attack this year, registering 23 goals from 16 appearances playing predominantly as a forward.

His move to Tasmania reunites him with Devils Head Coach Ken Hinkley, who coached him during his time at Port Adelaide.

Walsh will potentially play alongside his brother, Axel, who was one of the seven pre-listed Devils players that were announced last month.

Axel is eligible for the 2027 draft and was part of the inaugural Tasmania Devils signings.

The younger Walsh was the first name announced for the club's 2028 list, followed by Jake Miller, Angus Brown, Riley Stratford, Baxter Sruk, Griffin Barker and Nate Jenkins.

The Devils made one final signing for the night with Tasmanian Hugh McCallum joining as a homegrown talent.

Walsh adds another developing tall to Tasmania's growing playing group ahead of its first season in 2027, becoming the third former AFL-listed player to join the club.

Geelong midfielder George Stevens and West Coast forward Jack Williams were unveiled last week.

The Devils have also retained 2026 VFL players such as Jye Menzie, Lachy Hay, Jed Hagan, Nick Williams, Zach Adams, Harry Elmer and Maddox Iverach for next season.

However, they did say farewell to inaugural captain and ex-Swan Robbie Fox from its playing list.

Fox was not offered a contract for 2027 after multiple instances where he didn't adhere to the standards and practices of the Tasmanian footy club.
