Port Adelaide father-son Jackson Mead has been delisted by the club and will depart alongside Zak Butters.
Mead was drafted with the 25th pick in the 2019 draft and played 74 games throughout his time in the black and teal.
He played every game in 2024, before adding 20 matches last year, and then 10 under Josh Carr.
"Yeah, delisted," Mead said on Channel Nine.
"Probably something I've been aware of the last couple of weeks. "Carry" and I have had some discussions over the year. I was in there for 10 seconds.
"I mean, it's obviously ideal (to get onto an AFL list). A lot to play out over the next couple weeks and few months, so (it will be a) bit of a waiting game.
"I'm still in love with footy and would love to go elsewhere.
"It's hard to plan for. I don't have any control over what teams want me. "Carry" and (the coaches) have been honest throughout."
Will Lorenz, Mani Liddy, Xavier Walsh, Benny Barrett and Jacob Moss join Mead in being cut from the Power's program.
Lorenz managed 11 AFL games in three seasons, and was among the bests often for the Power's SANFL side. Liddy managed nine senior games, with injury curtailing his availability, often. Xavier Walsh notched 23 majors from 16 SANFL games this year, but never featured at the top level.
Category B rookies Benny Barrett and Jacob Moss also depart, after joining the club at the end of the 2024 season. Neither were granted an AFL debut over the course of their tenure.
“We thank Jackson, Will, Mani, Benny, Jacob and Xavier for their service to Port Adelaide,” list manager Jason Cripps said.
“Jackson was just the second father-son selection at the Power who will always be an important part of our history. Jackson, Will and Mani all worked hard to earn their opportunity to play AFL football during their time at Port Adelaide.
“Xavier, Benny and Jacob developed well within an AFL environment and we are grateful for what they gave to our SANFL side over the past few years.
“It's always a tough time of year when we have to say goodbye to good people. We wish all six the very best with what's next.”
The six join Butters out the Alberton club's doors.
The Power free agent confirmed he will exercise his free agency rights and return to Victoria.
Geelong, Richmond and the Western Bulldogs remain in the running for his services, with Collingwood understood to be informed they are not in the hunt.
Port Adelaide are currently in the middle of exit meetings for all players.
Decisions on Darcy Byrne-Jones, Brandon Zerk-Thatcher and Ollie Wines headline a contingent at Alberton who remain unsigned for next year.
