Matthew Nicks' side has shown significant improvement in 2021, outperforming their expectations and putting up some fantastic performances.

However, the Crows still have a fair way to go, and with the help of these five players, could come along in leaps and bounds in the next few seasons.

We kick off our ‘Five trade targets for every club' series with the Adelaide Crows. The idea of these stories is to identify potentially gettable targets who could fill roles, not just link every club to the likes of Marcus Bontempelli and Patrick Cripps.

FIVE TRADE TARGETS FOR: Brisbane Lions, Carlton

So in no particular order, here is it – five players we think Adelaide should have on their hit list.

2. Jack Lukosius (GC)

Despite being another highly-regarded rising Sun, the Crows should look at pursuing Jack Lukosius. The 20-year-old often starts across half-back but has looked at home playing in on the wing for Stuart Dew's side as well.

His unusual height for the position means that he often out-marks opponents and his kicking is a sight to behold. Like Rankine, he is an Adelaide native (like many on this list), so going back home could hold sentimental value to him. Also similarly to Rankine, his contract expires at the end of 2022, meaning that if the Crows want to poach him comes season end they will have to give the Suns a big offer to lure Lukosius to West Lakes.
