Ranking the top 10 Giants I've seen was an enjoyable yet fairly straight-forward task given the club is only 15 seasons old.

From the originals, prized picks and draftees to those who have extended their careers with the Orange Team, there's been a plethora of talent from day dot.

While GWS is yet to win its first premiership, 19 finals, a Grand Final appearance, four preliminary finals and finals campaigns in seven of the last nine seasons point to a perennial contender.

The genuine superstars have made an impact but those who have helped build the culture and character and set the standards are as worthy of recognition.

Apologies: Heath Shaw, Jesse Hogan, Finn Callaghan, Tom Scully

5Lachie Whitfield

Whitfield has produced exactly the kind of career you'd hope of your No.1 draft selection.

A smooth mover who makes good decisions and is tougher than some give him credit for, the 31-year-old started his career on wing but really flourished with a move to the backline in 2018.

Two-time All-Australian, dual club best-and-fairest winner, Whitfield has been a key play maker and cog in the Orange Tsunami.

I can rely on him taking the kick in, the temperature of the jam inside the donut I'm stuffing in my gob while watching Whitfield do so, not so much.

He became the third Giant to 250 games last year in a season where he was third in the AFL for effective kicks proving he's still at the top of his game.
