The Adelaide Crows have reportedly been turned down by a pair of recently sacked senior coaches.
Banished pair Ben Rutten and Stuart Dew are said to have been approached in recent times by Adelaide higher-ups for its vacant forward-line assistant gig.
The position is currently unoccupied after James Rahilly departed his post in favour of an opening in Kardinia Park.

According to 7News Adelaide's Theo Doropoulos on Thursday evening, the pair were in search of a more senior role; one that isn't presently on offer at West Lakes.
"The market is cool, but it's understood both Ben Rutten and Stuart Dew knocked back Adelaide's offers, saying they would only move for a senior assistant role," reported Doropoulos.
"Well, that's not happening, with Scott Burns already occupying that position. It forces the Crows to go back to [the] market as they search for a forwards coach.
"Rutten is more than happy with his role as an assistant at Richmond following his departure from Essendon, while Dew is reportedly on the radar of the Western Bulldogs after his sacking from the Suns."
Adelaide has had a swing and a miss at Ben Rutten and Stewy Dew as the club looks to replace forwards coach James Rahilly.
Both turned the offer down - reluctant to move unless it was for a senior assistant role - currently occupied by Scott Burns.

In addition to Dew and Rutten, Jude Bolton -- a former teammate of Matthew Nicks during their time at the Sydney Swans -- and Nigel Lappin were reportedly 'sounded out' by the Crows as they look to stabilise their forward sector in preparation for next season.
Rutten was dismissed by the Bombers in August 2022, with Essendon having since acquired former North Melbourne mentor Brad Scott, who prepares to embark on his second campaign in charge of the Tullamarine club.
Meanwhile, Dew was relieved of his Gold Coast Suns head-coaching duties in July, replaced by then-interim Steven King before the Suns appointed three-time Richmond premiership coach Damien Hardwick for the permanent position.
Dew has also reportedly received coaching interest from the Sydney Swans, where he previously served as an assistant before earning his opportunity on the Sunshine Coast.
