Could Damien Hardwick be the next coach of Essendon?
It sounds like a shock, but could it be the story that everyone's missing?
With the Suns struggling over the last month, losing their last four games and falling out of the top 10, could Hardwick be on the outs at the Suns?
On the Six Points AFL podcast, Mark Stevens floated the idea of Essendon poaching the Suns' head coach.
"Damien Hardwick, is he a chance at Essendon? Would you take him there?" Stevens said.
"Why wouldn't you think about it if you were the Bombers?"@StevoMedia believes Essendon should consider Damien Hardwick for the senior coaching vacancy.

"Well there's a bit of innuendo about it, why wouldn't you think about it if you are the Bombers?"
Hardwick applied for the Bombers coaching job back in 2007, but was unsuccessful due to some tech issues.
"Of course, he went for the job originally, but his PowerPoint broke down, and his computer didn't work; he may have got it," Stevens said.
"If you look at it, well, why wouldn't he be? He's an Essendon person?"
Hardwick played 153 games at the Bombers, featuring in the side's last premiership in 2000, gaining All-Australian in the same year.
Essendon are on the hunt for a senior coach, and recently named a five-person selection panel to determine who will fill the vacancy.
Caretaker Dean Solomon is in a race against former teammate James Hird for the position.
The pair are deemed as frontrunners for the job, while former coaches Ken Hinkley and John Longmire have been linked to the club.
