Ikon Park will showcase AFL Women's first double-header on Saturday, with confirmation the Collingwood-Melbourne match has been moved to the venue.

The match was originally scheduled to be played at Olympic Park, but after the success of the women's competition in the first round, the AFL thought it necessary to move to a bigger venue.

The Carlton-GWS match, originally scheduled for 5:05pm, has been brought forward to 3.35pm. The Pies-Demons match will begin at 7:40pm.

AFL's GM of Game and Marketing Development Simon Lethlean said the decision was a no-brainer.

"We feel Ikon Park is the best available option to host Saturday's matches," he said.

"Following the great attendances of the opening round last weekend, we want to make sure those who wish to attend the AFL Women's matches this weekend can do so."

As announced on Monday, the matches will remain free to enter. The AFL expects there will be sufficient time between the two matches to changeover.

"We have worked closely with the venue, clubs and the broadcasters to ensure the changeover period between the two matches is appropriate, Lethlean said.

"I encourage footy fans to take public transport to the games as there will be no public parking on the Princes Park lawns due to Carlton's family day activities."
