It's football's night of nights.
The Brownlow rewards the brilliance of a given season, but the Australian Football Hall of Fame rewards the brilliance of a given career. Everywhere you turn, heroes from bygone eras are mingling with more recently retired phenoms.
With so much footballing acumen in the one place, I sought to find out just who some of these greats are tipping to win it all on the last day in September.
Matthew Lloyd (Fremantle)
"You can't go past Fremantle with what they're doing at the moment, and I think, yeah, that Hawthorn are the smoky for me," Lloyd told Zero Hanger.
Lloyd, like his contemporaries, was buzzing to be in the company of the greats.
"It is a night that you do look back on and say, 'yeah, how fortunate was I?', but I also made the most of the opportunities I was given and and then just celebrate it with some of the people in the room.
"It is a pinch me moment because you aim to play one game and then you might get to 50 and then 100 and then you start to achieve some individual things and win a premiership and then to be inducted many years ago into the Hall of Fame, it's a real thrill."
