Gold Coast veteran Touk Miller has reaffirmed there is no bad blood in the aftermath of Christian Petracca's heated words with Leo Lombard on Saturday.
Petracca has since addressed the matter publicly, with Miller, a former captain, highlighting what is most important in such situations.
“You go to the players first and foremost and check in with both of them. When something gets blown up in the media like that, it's never nice for anyone,” Miller said on AFL 360.
“The main thing for those two is it's obviously a bad look on both sides but the conversation they had afterwards is the main thing.
“They spend a lot of time together in the locker room, they spend a lot of time together on the footy field, so I think it was really good for Christian as a senior player to get to Leo as a younger player to make sure they put that fire out pretty quick."
Miller also addressed Matt Rowell's emotional state post game.
The pair spoke following the loss to Carlton which all but rules out a Wildcard Round finish for the Suns.
“He's a competitor as we all are. The reality is we've lost nine on the trot and he's been as much in the trenches as us all and when you try your heart out, you feel for him and the whole team.
“He's feeling the hardship we're going through at the moment. We're all competitors so we will all get each other through what we're going through.
“He bears reasonability of how our team's going and that's what a leader should be doing but he has teammates to make sure we're getting through this together.”
Asked whether he was confident the playing group would stay together amid talks of an exodus, Miller said: “I'm confident in the paying group and what this team means to them and that's not to say players won't come and go, that happens to every club in the AFL, I believe the group we do have are committed to what we're doing as a club going forward.
“I have full confidence in the team we have but I know players will come and go in due course.”
