Western Bulldogs forward Aaron Naughton has miraculously been cleared of concussion after a nasty fall in Thursday's loss to Sydney, while defender Rory Lobb is set to miss a month of football with a hamstring injury.

Naughton came down from a marking contest, landing on his head. He was stretchered off late in the third term and ruled out of the game.

The Bulldogs confirmed that the left-footer has "some muscle spasm and pain associated with the injury".

"He has no signs of concussion symptoms. Naughton will be monitored over the coming days to determine his availability for Friday's game against Fremantle," the statement read.

Naughton was already under an injury cloud, with his hand placed in a glove, adding to the litany of stars sidelined for various reasons.

Lobb will now join the likes of Sam Darcy (ACL), James O'Donnell (hamstring) and Tom Liberatore (concussion), who all went down last week.

The key defender wasn't tipped to miss much football, but scans have revealed a longer stint on the sidelines.

"He got through a bit of training, he felt okay, and he felt it in another spot a bit lower down, so we scanned it again and something showed up as a bit risky, and so we'll need to be conservative with him," coach Luke Beveridge said.

"He'll be out for a good month."

Ruckman Tim English is "unlikely" to face Fremantle next week, while captain Marcus Bontempelli persisted through Thursday's loss with a knee injury.

Beveridge also lauded the efforts of Adam Treloar after a horror run of injuries last year, saying he'll be a "week-to-week thing".
