Reigning AFLW premiers North Melbourne have been positioned as the shortest premiership favourites in the past 25 years for both the AFL and AFLW, with TAB opening the Kangaroos at $2 to win a third consecutive flag before the season begins.
The previous benchmark was the Geelong Cats, who were $3.20 to win the 2008 AFL premiership after their dominant 119-point Grand Final win over Port Adelaide the previous year.
"The even-money figure for the Roos represents the shortest price for an AFL or AFLW premiership, before a ball is bounced in the season, in all our available historical records," TAB AFL and AFLW senior trader Bart Kennett said.
"Rightfully so, North Melbourne has been a juggernaut of the AFLW."
The Kangaroos have claimed the past two AFLW premierships and have not lost a match since the 2023 Grand Final when they were defeated by the Brisbane Lions. They completed back-to-back undefeated campaigns in 2024 and 2025, except for a draw against Geelong.
TAB has also priced the Kangaroos at $4 to complete another unbeaten season in 2026.
The Lions and Melbourne Demons are the next in line as premiership favourites, both at $8. While Sydney is rated at $10 ahead of Carlton and Adelaide at $12.
Superstar midfielder Jasmine Garner will again lead the Kangaroos, whose career includes seven All-Australian selections, four club best and fairest awards and three AFLPA Most Valuable Player awards.
North Melbourne's AFLW premiership season kicks off on August 9th against the Geelong Cats at Marvel Stadium, kicking off at 2:05 pm.
