First year players Ben Paton and Oscar Clavarino have re-signed with St.Kilda.

Both players have added an extra year to their contracts, meaning both will be at the club until at least the end of 2020.

General Manager of football Simon Lethlean praised the two and their efforts since joining the club.

"Both boys have really applied themselves since being drafted and their progress has been obvious," Lethlean told the club's website.

"Ben’s debut in Round 21 was a clear indicator of where we think he’s at and it’s a credit to him that he maintained his spot in the senior side.

"Oscar is coming along nicely, but as a bigger bodied defender, will take a bit more time.

"He’s got a good head on his shoulders and I have no doubt that with another pre-season under his belt he’ll be banging the door down for his debut next season," he added.

The Saints took Clavarino with pick 35 and Paton with 46 in the 2017 NAB AFL Draft.
