The AFL isn't perfect, no matter how much we wish it was.

Outside the product on the field, there are plenty of improvement areas that should be addressed by the league's powerbrokers.

Whether it be the amount of advertisements, or the AFL using its platform for more good, I have five ways the AFL could improve a fan's football experience...

Pre-game Entertainment

Increasing pregame entertainment will not only encourage attendance at the games, but will also provide options for those who can't (or chose not to) attend the bars.

Currently the AFL will put on physical activities for children pre-game with occasional advertisements, badly disguised as challenges, for adults peppered into the quarter time breaks (not that I don't enjoy seeing some guy trying to outrun an LED screen). These are great, but it would be fun to have some entertainment catered around appealing to the masses of people who get to their seats early. Some themed trivia up on the big screen for example? It's a small touch but one that could change a person's pregame experience dramatically.

On a larger scale, what happened to the reserves who used to play pre game? It gave fans an opportunity to see the seconds in action, as well as providing entertainment for all ages.

Encouraging people to show up early could also stagger arrival times, reducing risks of overcrowding security at entrances
