North Melbourne and Alastair Clarkson have parted ways after four seasons together, even with one year remaining on his deal.

Clarkson returned to Arden Street ahead of 2023, and coached the club on 82 occasions for 20 wins.

Surprisingly, the Kangaroos rose from consecutive three-win seasons to nine this year, and were closing in on a Wildcard Round slot, but fell short.

Here are 13 names who could be a part of the North Melbourne conversation...

Interestingly, a lot of these names were part of the Carlton and Essendon coaching process.

Murray Davis

The Adelaide coaching director was a candidate in the Essendon race won by Mark McVeigh.

Davis has been steadfast in his desire to become an AFL coach, and his experience alongside Chris Fagan, and assisting Matthew Nicks at the Crows, is widely viewed as leading among the competition.

The Crows assistant has undertaken a lengthy apprenticeship over the course of his coaching career, spending 13 seasons as an assistant at the Brisbane Lions after stints with NEAFL club NT Thunder and Zillmere Eagles in Queensland.

He's a relationship-based coach.
