Essendon and Brad Scott has parted ways after a terrible start to 2026, with only one win from 11 starts.

The Bombers were largely uncompetitive, and despite injury concerns during the Dreamtime at the G clash against Richmond, the loss proved to great for Scott to remain in his job.

But where do they begin to look?

Here are 10 names who could be a part of the Essendon conversation...

Interestingly, a lot of these names would be pushing for the Carlton coaching vacancy while Tasmania looms as they search for its inaugural coach.

Hayden Skipworth

The Pies assistant coach has been close on a few occasions, narrowly missing the Eagles top job that was filled by Andrew McQualter.

Skipworth has ambitions to lead an AFL side, and his apprenticeship at the Bombers Essendon and Collingwood has him prepped for the rigours of senior coaching.

He played 11 games in the red sash in 2009, before moving into the VFL coaching role before holding positions as an assistant for 11 years. He's been at the Pies since.
