Western Bulldogs forward Jake Stringer could leave the Kennel this trade period with the club and the player reportedly falling out, according to Channel Nine.

The Footy Show's Damien Barrett reported on Thursday night that Stringer, who still has one year to run on his current contract, is open to seeking a trade with the 2015 All Australian said to unhappy with the club.

"He (Stringer) is not happy with the Bulldogs, the Bulldogs are not happy with him. Both parties are now, we believe, prepared to explore and test the market on him,โ€ Barrett said onย The Footy Show.

โ€œOther footy clubs are aware of this situation, they are now ready and getting prepared to offer some serious deals to Jake Stringer.

"Contractually he is a Bulldog for 2018 but he has not been happy for some time and is now contemplating a future away from the Bulldogs.

"It's been brewing for some time and probably goes back in some respects to late 2016 when he was playing VFL footy."

Stringer enjoyed a break out season in 2015, kicking 56 goals and averaging 14 disposals as he earned for maiden All Australian guernsey. However, despite winning the premiership with the club last season, he was unable to replicate his 2015 form, while his form has also been patchy this season, where he has kicked 24 goals in 16 matches, his lowest return since 2013.

The excitement machine has played a total of 89 games with the club, kicking 160 goals.
