Richmond 19.14 (128) def Casey 15.11 (101)

Richmond's strong form in the seniors has translated to the VFL, with the club's reserves side reaching the preliminary final with a 27-point win over Casey on Saturday afternoon.

The Tigers' blistering first half saw them take a 39-point lead into the main change. The Demons mounted a second half comeback which saw them get within five goals at three quarter-time, however, it was too little too late, with Richmond holding on.

Tyson Stengle kicked four majors for the Tigers, while Sam Lloyd kicked three. Anthony Miles continued his good form, collecting 27 disposals.

Meanwhile, Corey Maynard led all comers with 35 disposals for Casey, while Jack Trengove had 30 and Tom Bugg kicked three goals, took six marks and laid seven tackles.

Port Melbourne 16.11 (107) def Footscray (12.15 (87)

Port Melbourne kicked away late to record a hard fought win over Footscray to advance to the preliminary final.

Jordan Lisle kicked four goals for Port, while Luke Tynan had 27 disposals.

Patrick Lipinski kicked two goals and collected 22 disposals for the Bulldogs, while Bailey Williams (22 disposals and one goal) and Clay Smith (19 disposals and seven tackles) also performed well.
