Important St Kilda trio Jack Sinclair, Tom De Koning and Rowan Marshall were all sent for scans on injuries from the loss to the Western Bulldogs at Marvel Stadium.

Sinclair came from the field with a calf issue after attempting to sprint before pulling up rather lame.

The concern is it could include some Achilles issues, which puts his season in jeopardy.

"Lower leg. I know there's speculation about an Achilles," St Kilda coach Ross Lyon said of Sinclair's injury.

"I'm not in a position to comment any further, except to say they think it's more calf."

Lyon attempted to provide more context around De Koning (ribs) and Marshall (shoulder).

"Really simply, three players will go for a scan. Rowan precautionary scan, 'TDK' precautionary, like in the rib area, but clearly you're making sure there's no punctured lungs and all of that, he's pretty tough, and hopefully with the bye he's able to get back.

"You can't live in that space (of complaining about injuries) because there's still opportunities to get it done."

Compounding the injury woes is the likely suspension to talented youngster Alix Tauru for his bump in the VFL.

Tauru elected to bump, bypassing the ball to hit his opponent. The Footscray Bulldog was ruled out of the match after the incident.

Meanwhile, star Saint Nasiah Wanganeen-Milera may also be in hot water for flipping the bird to the crowd.

Previously, the league has sanctioned players with a fine, which Wanganeen-Milera can expect.

"We like a bit of theatre. Do we like the bird? We're about to find out," Lyon said.

The loss keeps St Kilda outside the top 10, lamenting in 12th position after winning one of the past five outings.

They have the bye in Round 16.
