Fremantle coach Ross Lyon says consecutive 104-point losses is no cause for alarm and is adamant his team's progression is still on track.
It was the first time Fremantle has lost two consecutive games by over 100-points and has left them with a diabolical percentage of 73.8.
Lyon told Channel 7 on Tuesday night he believed there was "plenty of light at the end of the tunnel".
He said Richmond's rapid resurgence was evidence that team fortunes can change quickly.
"[T]here's always possibility in going forward. Richmond lost six of eight last year and they lost their last game by 113 points,"Lyon explained.
He said there was plenty of cause for optimism for his young, developing side.
"Our young players are signing on, we're banging games into our kids, and the bulk of them, when we've had a lot of personnel unavailable, have been very competitive, so it's not panic stations here."
Lyon also confirmed retirees Garrick Ibbotson and Zac Dawson would be unlikely to receive farewell games.
"I think once you've retired mentally, it's very hard to come up."
His job has also come into question from some experts and has also been linked to Collingwood should Nathan Buckley be given his marching orders, rumour he the Dockers have denied.
