Richmond's new recruit Toby Nankervis could be set for an early debut according to reports.

Crocmedia's Mitch Cleary has identified Nankervis as a pre-season bolter, saying he is likely to start in the centre circle in the Tigers opening match against Carlton.

In the 2016 trade period, Nankervis made the switch from Sydney to Richmond in exchange for pick 46. He played six games for the Swans last season, averaging 11 disposals and 12 hitouts.

He would be pushing out fellow ruckman Shaun Hampson, who played 20 games last season. Hampson was recruited from Carlton in 2013 in exchange for pick 28.
