Richmond will unveil their seventh debutant of 2025, with tall forward Thomas Sims to play his first game on Sunday against West Coast.
Sims was drafted to Punt Road with Pick 28 in last year's intake - the first selection of the second-round of the draft.
The Northern Knights product was highly-rated as a tall forward who can pinch-hit in the ruck, which is a role Sims has taken on since joining the Tigers.
The 199cm key forward featured in Adem Yze's side during the pre-season but has since played in the VFL, biding his time at the state league level over the past month.
Sims has played five games in the VFL, booting five goals while averaging 9.4 disposals, 3.6 tackles, 5.2 hitouts and 3.2 marks per game.
He re-signed with Richmond this week, adding another year to his contract to be signed through to the end of 2027.
The Tigers rookie was one of four potential inclusions for Round 9, with fellow debut hopeful Jasper Alger also in the mix to be named.
The young pair are joined by Kane McAuliffe and Tyler Sonsie as potential ins for Yze's side, with small forward Maurice Rioli (omitted) the only confirmed out.
Sims joins Sam Lalor, Jonty Faull, Luke Trainor, Harry Armstrong, Campbell Gray and Liam Fawcett in making his AFL debut in the yellow and black this year.
The Tigers will host West Coast at the MCG on Sunday at 1:10pm (AEST), with both sides to confirm their 23-man lineups on Friday at 5:00pm.
